It only costs $10 a team, with all benefits going to building shelters for children in Sri Lanka, who have been affected by the war.

Prizes will be awarded to the Winning team.

Waterloo Warriors came out on top for the Kalaikal Cup

“Kalaikal 2010 was definitely one to remember, filled with great performances and amazing dance showcases. Every team stepped up their performances from last year and at the same time the newcomers made their mark at Kalaikal 2010 with outstanding performances. Believe it or not each team had a unique aspect to their dance routines and when it was all said and done, only one team stood out. The Waterloo Warriors came out on top amongst 8 teams all vying for the Kalaikal Cup, York Huskies placed second! We`d like to congratulate Waterloo Warriors for a job well done.”

Waterloo won the following awards:
1. Best Dance Team (Overall)
2. Best Power Team (Overall)

Hello everyone,

The party you’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Frosh party in Fall 2009 was a great success thanks to you guys. This motivated us to get together another awesome party for the end of the term right before exams.

WaTSA’s End Of The Term Party has been designed to entertain everyone throughout the night. This is your chance to enjoy yourselves before exam stress begins. Here is your chance to network with other members through different games. Join us in the wonderful games we have arranged for you as there will be prizes to be won and of course, the dance floor will be open later that night to show your moves. This party will knock you off your feet!

$3 membership fee required at entrance

WaTSA is back is with another 3 on 3 basketball tournament. This will be a 14 team tournament so spots are limited. Each team is asked to donate $10 in order play in the tournament. There is a prize of the winning team. All proceeds go to help Kalaikal.

It will be yet another fun and competitive tournament. So do not miss out !! The tournament will begin @ 9am.

Come celebrate Tamil culture with the Warrior Weekend crew as we explore the Tamil culture, dance and arts. Different activities include learning to dance the traditional Tamil dance, performances by Dancers in Motion, creating your very own kollum and much more.

Cultural Caravan 2010

The Federations of Students is organizing its annual Cultural Caravan Show. As in previous years, a few individuals from WaTSA Dance Team will be performing. Dancers taking part in the Kalaikal Competition will also perform. We encourage all of you to come out and watch our team and other school team performances. This is a great opportunity to show to the Waterloo community who we Tamil are.

International Celebrations Week is an on campus event hosted by the One Waterloo Campaign to promote, celebrate, and explore different cultures.

SLC- Great Hall and MPR

*Event:* Festival of Holidays / Cultural Booths/Country Presentations

Country or cultural booths with interactive sections such as food, games, and craft will be set up in the SLC. The booths will display information about different countries and their holidays. A stage will be mounted near the FEDS office, where people can watch presentations on the different holidays from around the world.

Attendees also get a passport to travel around the booths and get stamped for potential prizes and giveaways!

Thanks to all the help & support of community members & partners like you; last year the “Tamil Canadian” Partner-For-Life campaign was the LARGEST Community Donation Group across Central Ontario & Canada!!

It was during the end of November many of you donated blood. What a great accomplishment!! This year, we will continue our efforts to help save lives for patients all across Canada & help find compatible donors for the One Match Stem Cell & Bone Marrow programs.

Remember: Each donation contributes to 1 unit of blood & can help save upto THREE lives!!
